Defining Perfection

Who have you allowed to define perfection for you? Who are you giving power over your life? We examine some of the influences that leave us feeling less-than and we’ll start exploring how to redefine ourselves.

Why Daughter of Ruth?

The meaning behind the name...

I know, it’s an unusual name for a blog, and it actually surprised even me. You see, I knew I wanted to start writing again, and as I’d previously enjoyed blogging, I figured it was a good way to get started. But what on earth do you name a blog these days? I considered a few things, but they were all taken (and not very good names to begin with anyway). It may seem silly, but I actually wrestled with the name for days – after all, your blog name sets the whole tone for your site.

The Friday Five

This week's Friday Five has a little bit from the entrepreneur in me, a little bit from the creative in me, a little bit about keeping a clean house (because I'm really researching the best ways to clean, declutter, and simplify our lives), and a favorite recipe.

It doesn’t get much better than that, unless you throw in a princess. Stories are usually better with princesses, especially if it’s an average, everyday girl who...

Are You Living as a Victim or a Victor?

We’ve all had those pivotal life experiences, the ones we can look back on years later and say, “That changed who I am as a person.” I wish I could say that those experiences are always for the better, but the truth is that, more often than not, they are failures or hurts that change...

Challenge Yourself

I have a friend who loves to hike. She lives in an area surrounded by the kind of scenery most of us only read about in books, and every few weeks I see her post about her latest hike on Facebook. It fills me with envy. I may live in one of the most beautiful...
