This week’s Friday Five has a little bit from the entrepreneur in me, a little bit from the creative in me, a little bit about keeping a clean house (because I’m really researching the best ways to clean, declutter, and simplify our lives), and a favorite recipe.

Capital Gaines

by Chip Gaines

This is actually the book that inspired me to start blogging again. If you have a dream and you’re struggling to get started, this might just help you take that first step. Plus, Chip is incredibly funny. You can find it here.

Flea Market Flip

on HGTV

Some days this show saves my sanity. It’s fun, but doesn’t take a lot of deep thought to enjoy, and it doesn’t matter if you’ve missed 10 seasons. I wouldn’t buy about 50% of the flips, but the other 50% are pretty awesome. Check it out.

Steal Like an Artist

by Austin Kleon

If you’re a creative struggling to create, this is the book for you. You can find it here.

Daily Cleaning Schedule

by Melissa Fitzhugh

I haven’t fully adopted this schedule yet, but it is a good jumping off point to figure out what works for you. I am trying to tackle some of the morning and evening routines to keep our house from looking like it’s been taken over by a pack of wild frat boys. Download the list here.

Parmesan Roasted Carrots

Recipe from Your Home Based Mom

I cannot praise this recipe enough. I’ve eaten it twice this week, and it’s in our regular meal rotation. For us, I actually cut the carrots into carrot sticks rather than using whole carrots, and I’ve swapped out olive oil in place of the butter to make it a little healthier, but it’s fantastic any way you eat it. You can find the recipe here.

Know of anything we should feature in the Friday Five? Leave your suggestions in the comments. We hope you enjoy these things as much as we do!
